On the banning of Captain Jerk

This following is an attempt to document as much as possible, all the issues currently at hand regarding the banning of Captain Jerk or CJ, aka Erik Es on Facebook, aka Erik Staley per lawsuit documentation.

I want to separate facts from fiction, hearsay and opinion.

I do pose some questions, but I do not mean to put any words in anyone's mouth.

I believe it should be up to the individual to make their own decision given all the facts presented.

I have tried as hard as possible to be factual. All data has been obtained from publicly available sources and nothing directly from either CJ or Pop Rocks, to keep things impartial. Why is Pop Rocks mentioned here? You'll understand shortly.

It should also be noted that I'm not representing Pop Rocks or Captain Jerk. I'm just stating the facts that I know. If there sounds like bias here, please let me know.

Why has it come to this?

Imagine, that a single hasher has shown a pattern of behavior that has literally resulted in putting fear in pretty much all of the local kennels and GMs of those kennels. Fear so bad, that no one wants to post publicly about him, for fear of retaliation. Especially the worst kind of retaliation: Litigious retaliation. (More proof on this in a bit.)

I understand you might wonder how the legal issues presented here could happen when one of the core tenets of the hash is anonymity to avoid such problems and the like. Well apparently, the hasher in question, known as Captain Jerk or CJ from here on, doesn't respect that core tenet - and this will show that CJ has violated that tenet in multiple provable ways, among so many other things.

And that's just a part of the issues that many kennels have had with him. This documentation is not just about any single incident, but I've tried to account for all the provable offenses that I know of. And now, with the assault & battery of Fucking Larry during the Las Vegas Red Dress Run, the situation has escalated further.

Anyway, at the core, the hash should be a safe space. No one should be afraid to hash.

Facts

1. On January 8th, 2023, CJ publicly revealed someone's identity along with their personal problems. This was not the first time he posted this, but this is the screenshot I have.

   

2. In circa December of 2018, after multiple warnings, Humpin' misman kicked CJ off of the Humpin facebook group for repeatedly attacking online (cyber bullying) Speedophile, even though CJ had presented no true hard evidence that Speedo had done anything wrong. Only hearsay was from the Humpin hash cash in 2016, during the time in which Speedophile was GM and Captian Jerk was RA.

   In apparent retaliation to being banned from the facebook group, CJ then convinced Chick Clit, the originator and admin of the private Humpin Facebook group, to delete the entire facebook group. This deleted all data for the group. This was approximately 10 years of images, comments, and the history of trails. Allegedly, included in those comments was Captain Jerk posting Speedo's tax information as well. It's unclear how he gained access to this.

3. CJ brought a lawsuit against Pop Rocks (PR) aka Jonathan Sheets, his wife Leah (Glitter), and PR for reimbursement for a moving business deal gone south. CJ began to slander and libel PR, with false online reviews. PR tried to defend himself and lost initially, and after appeal, won. So TLDR: CJ lied about a hashers business and posted false reviews on yelp and google, in order to hurt and undermine PR's business. Here's proof:

4. Note: This was extended as CJ has now brought additional lawsuit, essentially a money grab, for Pop Rocks allegedly violating their settlement. CJ literally mentions the going-ons of the hash and brings it all into court. see Evidence Item 2 below.

   Note: Jonathan Sheets (PopRocks) was contracted and paid to feed the hashers at the SDH3 AGM event. This was made public knowledge on January 18th, before the February 4th event. CJ came to the event knowing that PR was going to be there.

5. After CJ was sent an email, See Below Evidence Item #1 notifying him that he was banned by a majority (11) of kennels in SD (see below for full text of email), he had papers served to at least 1 GM requiring them to NOT delete evidence related to the Jonathan Sheets lawsuit. This was completely unenforceable and technically illegal as CJ is NOT a lawyer or an officer of any court. Note, this has been reported to the California State Bar for illegally practicing as a lawyer.

6. I was told that he is continuing to intimidate and serve others with unenforceable pseudo-legal papers. I would love to see proof of such and would post it on it.

7. I know that CJ brought an additional lawsuit, asking for a permanent restraining order (PRO) for Pop Rocks and Glitter, due to fear for his life. (This is pretty ridiculous, and if you have ever met PR or Glitter, I'm sure you would agree.) This happened in May 2024. It should be noted that both Pop Rocks and Glitter asked for mediation to try and end this with compromise, but CJ refused.

8. Taking pictures and videos during a hash (SDH3 AGM and NCH3) without consent to use as part of his court case and presenting them as evidence in his court cases.

9. Taking Screenshots of hash related postings and including it as evidence in his court case.

10. Circa April 16, 2024, Eric Staley (Captain Jerk) is NOT stopping. CJ has now sent out even more Subpoenas.

    1. Ass Transit was served on April 16, 2024. Her Subpoena included NON CONSENTED pictures of her!

    2. Rock Hard has once again attempted to be served AT HER JOB on April 17th, 2024. I believe RockHard may have retained a lawyer. ( THIS could cost her money $$$$!!!)

11. And AGAIN:

    Tuesday, April 30th, 2024:

    Ass Transit was sent a USPS letter at 5:00am. She refused it and did not open it marking it return to sender.

    Rock Hard was sent a USPS at her work again, including pictures of Ass Transit looking at Pop Rocks Notebook that included his petition for the banning of CJ.

12. On May ??, regarding the initial restraining order this happened:

    1. The judge dismissed his restraining order against Leah immediately because CJ had absolutely no evidence against her.
    2. The judge asked some questions regarding Erik's accusations against PR for violating the settlement agreement. She ended up saying that those possible violations did not show a violence or threats and that his accusation of a Death Threat by anonymous email about how he would end up like the town bully not creditable and shows no proof who made it. She did not grant his restraining order

13. CJ then filed additional motions to try and get Rock Hard and Ass Transit and Pop Rocks to create oral testimony against PR for May 14th.

14. And AGAIN:

    On or around May 31st, 2024, CJ sent yet more subpoenas or quasi-legal letters to both Ass Transit and Rock Hard again.

    Some time after this, the entire case was dismissed. I heard the judge say in court, that the whole thing was rather childish.

15. Assault and Battery @ LVRDR 2024: At approximately 4:15pm, on October 5th, 2024 during Las Vegas Red Dress Run, Captain Jerk hard smacked Fucking Larry in the face. This was a result after multiple tauntings of talking shit to Larry, and when Larry replied "I don't care whatever you say - at least I didn't get banned by 11 kennels", Captain Jerk walked quickly to Larry and hit him across in the face, breaking his sunglasses.Read full story HERE

Result:

Southern California GM Meeting and Ban Decision in late February 2024

Just some of these actions caused the majority of the southern California GMs to meet twice and after over 3 hours of discussion and with all the evidence presented thus far, and make a determination. This included some GMs from outside the San Diego area.

In the end, an overwhelming majority (11) decided to ban Captain Jerk. Those that abstained, some possibly believe, did so out of fear of legal retaliation.

Questions:

Q: Fellow brother/sister hasher, Is this hashy？ Happy and jolly behavior?

Q: Ask yourself sincerely please, this fear of legal reprisal from a fellow hasher - is this even the tiniest bit of behavior you would expect from a fellow hasher? Should you ever feel NOT safe at a hash?

Q: Furthermore, no matter where you are from, if you ever hold a hash event or anything, Would you want someone to take pictures without consent, and bring you to court because of something that happened there?

Q: Do you want to hash when there is a possibility of having to deal with litigation or physically violent retaliation?
